Comrade,

Yesterday's events were horrifying and outrageous-but not surprising. Trump and his allies have fanned the flames of fascism since he announced he was running for President. The Senate failed to remove Trump after he was impeached last year. Last night, the president and Republican members of Congress incited violence on the workers at the Capitol. Congress recessed until the inauguration.

This is unacceptable. We must act immediately.

We are asking for your support in reaching out to members of Congress and demanding they sign on to the resolutions proposed by Rep. Ilhan Omar and Rep. Cori Bush, calling for the impeachment of Donald Trump and the removal of the members of Congress who sought to undermine our democracy, respectively. Socialists are again the ones leading the fight.

Find your member of Congress here and tell them that now is not the time for a vacation. Now is the time for swift action. If you've not written or called your elected officials before, here are some tips:

1. State who you are and what you are writing or calling about. If calling, give your zip code so they know you are a constituent.

2. Stay brief

3. Be original and personalize the issue

Once you've written or called your Representative, be sure to spread the word by sharing the resolution endorsement form on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Together, we will win power for the multiracial working class by defeating fascism.
