**A CLOSER LOOK**-Medication Adherence

Medication adherence is challenging for patients as well as substance
use and behavioral health experts. The health and economic impacts of
non-adherence are staggering and include worsening patients' disease
progression, causing further health complications, and costing hundreds
of billions of dollars in health care costs. While from 2012, much of
what Aaron McKethan and coauthors wrote on Health Affairs Blog is still
vital for the discussion about medication adherence
