John —

Yesterday, the Capitol Police evacuated me and my staff in response to a suspicious package. Shortly after that, Trump-supporting rioters violently breached the Capitol building.

I am shaken and appalled by the terrorist assault that occurred yesterday -- an assault instigated by Donald Trump and his Republican enablers with the aim of delaying and impeding our Democratic process of certifying the election results.

To make matters worse, once this assault began, Donald Trump reportedly refused to bring in the National Guard -- the call had to be made by Vice President Pence.

Donald Trump took an oath to protect our Democracy, and he disgraced it by standing idly by as our Capitol was under attack by his supporters.

Donald Trump is not fit to be in office a moment longer -- every moment he holds this office, he does irreparable damage to American Democracy, and is a threat to our national security. I’m asking you to join me in demanding that Vice President Pence invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Donald Trump from office. Sign on with me immediately »

We have to act now -- we can’t let this happen again.

If Vice President Pence is unwilling to act, then we must reconvene the House of Representatives and impeach him. The price of inaction is too high.

Thank you.
