"I love being Mayor of Houston but sometimes it's a challenge. As your Mayor, I have seen "H-Town" through tough times (like Hurricane Harvey in 2017), but 2020 has pushed everyone to the limit. This year, Houston has been through a pandemic, the tragic death of former Houstonian George Floyd, a divisive election and climate change (which contributed to the aforementioned Harvey). But there were bright spots, too--the Climate Action Plan, Vision Zero, our Street Rehabilitation initiative, expanded Complete Communities, increased high tech innovation and more.

Houstonians, as usual, were up to the challenge. And, as I always say, my mother told us that 'Tomorrow will be better than today.' I truly believe this."
