Follow Us on Social ‌ ‌ ‌ President's Message These are unprecedented times, for us as a country, for us as school nurses, and for all of us as individuals. And, in times of uncertainty for myself, I always look to and rely on the core beliefs that I hold true, that center me. As we move into this new year, as your President, I am so proud to walk beside you in these uncertain times, and I am so proud that NASN’s core values: child well-being; diversity, equity and inclusion; ethics; excellence; innovation; integrity; leadership and scholarship are the guiding lights that center all the work that we do—as an organization, and as individual school nurses. I am grateful for all you, for the work that you do to keep our students and our communities healthy, safe and ready to learn, and I am hopeful for the impact we will have together in the coming year. With Gratitude, Laurie Combe, MN, RN, NCSN NASN President BETTER HEALTH. Successful field trips require collaboration and team planning among school administrators, teachers, school nurses, other school staff, parents, and students. A school nurse workgroup was formed to assist Wisconsin school districts in establishing or reviewing their policies and practices by providing expert guidance and creating a field trip toolkit. Learn all about the creation of the toolkit and its content by taking this course. This course was originally presented at Virtual NASN2020 and is now available in the NASN Learning Center. They need it for their emotional health, feelings of belonging and accomplishment, as well as physical health. Throughout the course, you will learn the types of physical activity programs available for students with special needs and adaptations that can be made, implement a variety of available programs, and help those students get involved in recreational athletic activities.
