Dear John,

While YOU'RE DOING EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO PROTECT OUR NHS by not seeing
loved ones or by asking MPs to protect it in trade bills, THE GOVERNMENT IS
HELLBENT on involving the private sector in our health service further.

There are plans TO CARVE UP our NHS in England further, giving private
companies more roles in decision-making and delivering NHS services across
the country. The NHS is consulting on the plans now.

SHOW THEM WE WILL OPPOSE THESE PLANS AND FIGHT FOR A FULLY PUBLIC HEALTH
SERVICE RUN FOR OUR NEEDS, BY RESPONDING TO THE NHS CONSULTATION NOW. The
deadline is tomorrow, 8th of January!

Respond to the NHS consultation closing on the 8th [1]

This is just one of the big threats to the NHS that our allies KEEP OUR NHS
PUBLIC HAVE LED ON. We highly recommend you sign up to their newsletter
here [2] to get more involved in the fight for our NHS.

You may or may not have heard of Integrated Care Systems, or ICS.

DON'T WORRY. Keep Our NHS Public have made a handy guide for opposing it
[1].

Largely, it's a new name for a plan concocted 5 years ago to further
_disintegrate_ our NHS until private companies can dominate.

We know there are so many scary and worrying things happening right now.

But IF WE CAN GET THOUSANDS OF RESPONSES TO THIS CONSULTATION, it will say
loud and clear, we oppose these secretive changes to our health service: WE
WANT OUR NHS TO BE EXPANDED IN THESE COMING YEARS, and WE WON'T STOP UNTIL
we get an NHS fully in public hands!

I will spend 5 minutes to stop NHS disintegration [1]

WE APOLOGISE for the short notice - we just found out about this. We're
sorry not to give you more time to respond.

The reality is that Integrated Care Systems, ICS, will further embed many
of the problems from the 2012 Health and Social Care Act that made our
health services into a jumbled market of public and private.

Hancock said working in “partnership” with the private sector was one
of the “big learnings” from the pandemic.

Even though test and trace has been just one of the LIFE THREATENING
PRIVATISATIONS OF THE PAST YEAR!

So we can't let the _disintegration_ of our NHS in England go ahead.
Luckily the rest of the UK is not going ahead with these plans yet, BUT IT
IS NOT A GOOD SIGN FOR THE DIRECTION OF OUR NHS AS A WHOLE, LONG TERM.

WE DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME. PLEASE WILL YOU RESPOND TO THE CONSULTATION TODAY?

Respond now to protect our NHS [1]

We’re incredibly lucky to have YOU on our side, to protect our NHS and
our beloved public services at this crucial time, for future generations.

All we have is each other.

In solidarity,

Cat, Pascale, Chris, Alice and Johnbosco – the We Own It team

P.S. Caroline Molloy in her brilliant OpenDemocracy article on the
priorities for 2021 ends with:

"I’M UP FOR THE CHALLENGE IN 2021. WILL YOU JOIN ME?" Join her by
responding to the consultation and opposing NHS privatisation via
Integrated Care Systems here. [1]
