LETTER FROM STAFF

Lisa Anderson | Director of Young Adults
Happy New Year! Nope, I haven’t taken my tree down yet. Or my nativity set. Or anything, really. But that doesn’t mean I’m hanging on to 2020. I’m always excited about a new year, a fresh start; this year especially so. But before you rush into the possibilities ahead, don’t forget to learn from what you’re leaving behind. A friend came over the other day and walked me through an exercise. She had me write down my “journey” through 2020 with the highs, lows and especially landmark moments. Then she had me reflect on what God taught me (or is still teaching me) through them. You can create a “path” with stops in a notebook, or she put knots in a large knitted rope she had on hand. We then spent some time in prayer. Only in embracing God’s work in 2020 can I look confidently and expectantly toward 2021, knowing that the God who was there for me is still with me for what lies ahead. |
