John, I wanted to check in with you:
My staff and I are all safe, thankfully, after yesterday's domestic terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.
But what we saw yesterday was a violent attempted coup, carried out by white supremacists and emboldened by a fascists.
Every single Republican member of Congress who fomented yesterday's violence needs to be held accountable.
That's why my friend, Congresswoman Cori Bush, is introducing a resolution to formally expel every member of Congress who supported Trump's coup, and that's why I'm standing with her.
Those who fueled yesterday's attack broke their sacred Oath of Office.
Not a single one of them should have the honor of representing the American people in Congress, and every single one of them needs to be held accountable.
