I wanted to send this quick update to let you know my staff and I are safe and secure. Despite today's armed insurrection, we will not back down. The House will return tonight and we will do our job, what the U.S. Constitution dictates.

We will not let those who would tear down our democracy cause anything more than a pause in the proceedings.
