"Millions of Americans have lost faith that our election systems can be trusted. They don’t trust the media to tell the truth. They feel our government bureaucracy has been politicized and our justice system treats politicians from one party very differently than the others."

** China’s Takedown of Hong Kong Is Part of a Strategy of World Domination ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------

The year 2020 will be remembered as a time of major inflection points, including the coronavirus pandemic and the U.S. election. More obscure to most Americans, but a dire turn in the shaping of the 21st century, is an event that took place in Hong Kong at 11 p.m. on June 30, the eve of the 23rd anniversary of the handover of the former British colony to China. That event was the imposition of China’s new National Security law for Hong Kong ([link removed]) , the communist instrument with which China, in one stunning blow, stripped away wholesale the rights and freedoms it promised to Hong Kong for 50 years after the handover.

** Maryland’s Small Businesses Are Struggling ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
Maryland is a top state for women-owned and minority-owned businesses. Yet, the brutal pandemic has left many of them struggling to survive. In Maryland, some counties are ending indoor dining and reducing outdoor dining ([link removed]) . Other states are ending outdoor dining entirely, which will likely be the death knell for many remaining establishments. Over half of women small business owners surveyed by Groupon this fall fear they will have to close permanently.

** Union Jobs Are a Cornerstone of Biden’s Climate Plan ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
Creating jobs for Americans is of vital importance, particularly as our country struggles to come back from the coronavirus recession. And the energy sector shows incredible promise for creating American jobs as we continue to find new ways to provide clean, renewable energy. But President-elect Joe Biden’s focus on specifically union jobs causes concern. Unions have provided many benefits to their members over the years, but they also can place unnecessary burdens upon companies and individuals who may not want to join unions.

** Pronoun Purge: Nancy Pelosi Aims To Give ‘Mother,’ ‘Father,’ ‘Daughter,’ ‘Grandmother’ the Boot ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
Re-elected U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is kicking gendered pronouns to the curb in a bid to be the wokest Congress in history. No, really. Late last week, House leaders announced a package of ethics and legislative reforms to kick off the 117th Congress that included stripping out gendered language referring to a representative’s family members and replacing it with gender-neutral terms to honor “all gender identities.” (Also, check out the hypocrisy!)

** Child-Welfare Agencies’ Rush To Go Woke Is Terrible for the Kids ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
How do we prevent child abuse? First, we have to stop racism. That message has lately invaded the child-welfare system. Academics and leaders in child welfare are single-mindedly focused on racial disparities in the system. They note that black kids are more likely to be removed from their homes than white ones. Never mind that black children are more than twice as likely to be the victims of maltreatment as white children. These scholars and activists argue that we have to make the numbers come out even.
