Anniversary of a Year in the Wilderness
It's been almost exactly 3 years since Explorers Dave and Amy Freeman completed their Year in the Wilderness! The Freemans completed their adventure advocacy expedition after 366 days in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness to help protect the area from the threat of proposed sulfide-ore copper mining on the Wilderness edge.
Become a Volunteer Ambassador!
Do you love the Boundary Waters and want to be a part of a fun-loving group that is passionately fighting to save it? Then join a Save the Boundary Waters Team near you! Teams are local and regional groups throughout the country that work together under the leadership of a volunteer Save the Boundary Waters Ambassador.
Fall Colors in the Boundary Waters
Every season offers a new experience in the Boundary Waters, but fall is always a favorite. With a changing palette of colors surrounding your visit, there's more than one reason to check out the Wilderness this fall.
