Dear Friend,

🎉🎉🎉Today is National Voter Registration Day, an important day to celebrate democracy by taking a few moments to register to vote or to check your voter registration!!🎉🎉🎉

You can register to vote -- or double check your voter registration status -- by using MomsRising’s Voter Registration page. And doing it right now ensures you make the voter registration deadline1 in your state!

Each and every vote you cast is important and is needed. Making sure our democracy delivers on freedom and justice for everyone depends on as many eligible voters as possible voting! This means participating in elections big and small, from electing your local school board members all the way up to electing the President of the United States.

When we’re all voters, we all win.

Speaking of which, elections are happening all the time; so there are lots of opportunities for us to be voters. In fact, elections happen every year in different states for different levels of government. So you may not need to wait for 2020 to exercise your privilege to vote! (Go ahead and Google "Elections - Secretary of (Your) State" to find out about upcoming elections in your area. Go ahead, it’s fun! 😄)

Don’t wait for 2020 to register to vote -- or to double check your voter registration. Voter purges are a recurrent problem in U.S. elections so now is the time to double check that you’re still registered to vote. This is important, because there have been many reports of people who voted for years with no problem, who were suddenly prevented from casting their ballot because they had been removed from the voter rolls without their knowledge.2 Don’t take that chance!

Celebrate National Voter Registration Day by making sure you are a voter in good standing. Register to vote -- or double check your voter registration status -- now, which guarantees you make the voter registration deadline3 in your state!

And you can have extra fun and impact by involving your kids! Have them sit with you as you check your voting status -- and make a plan to bring your kids to vote with you in the future too. We can be voters, AND raise voters! This has a big impact: Research indicates that lifelong voting habits are formed in childhood and adolescence, so showing your kids that you are a voter helps to raise democracy.4 You can start right away by having them help you register to vote or check your voter registration with this link!
