Now and always, the people lead into 2021 and beyond.

Indivisibles,

We’ve drafted version after version of this email today, filling it with statistics about all the work we did, and registration links for important updates, and celebrations of how far we’ve come.

But here’s the bottom line: We won. WE WON GEORGIA.

WE REPEAT: JON OSSOFF AND RAPHAEL WARNOCK ARE THE NEXT SENATORS FROM GEORGIA.

It’s now 2021, and in just a few short days Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be in control of the White House. We have held onto a Democratic majority in the House with a powerful progressive voting bloc. And we now have a 50-50 split in the Senate, with Kamala Harris as the tie-breaker. Hope is a strange feeling to so many of us nowadays, but this morning we felt that spark of hope that’s kept us going for the past four years grow a little stronger.

This victory is because of years and years of hard, often unappreciated work, from Stacey Abrams, John Lewis, our partner organizations, Black and brown voters, local Indivisible leaders, and tens of thousands of everyday people who took time to pick up a phone, knock on a door or send a postcard. Together, that broad coalition helped voters overcome historic voter suppression and moved Georgia -- and the nation -- towards a brighter tomorrow.

It's a historic moment: not only did these runoffs draw record voter turnout, but we are also celebrating Reverend Warnock as the first Black senator and Jon Ossoff as the first Jewish senator elected to represent Georgia. Their victories are a repudiation of the corruption and ineptitude of people like Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue. With Warnock and Ossoff representing Georgia, we’re finally on track to enact the progressive legislation we need to save our democracy.

You’ll hear a lot from us in the next few days about what’s next. But here’s your first set of action items:

  1. Sign up for Thursday’s National Activist Call. We’ll debrief these elections and go over what’s to come. And also take time to celebrate!
  2. Sign up to join an event during The People Lead week of action. It's our first chance to celebrate our wins and to get new Senators’ and members of Congress’ attention and tell them what we want. And we’ll be amplifying our message online and through the press. The People Lead is the first step in making the changes we want to see in 2021.
  3. Let us know how you’re feeling! Celebratory? Worried about what comes next? Relieved? We always love to hear from you; feel free to reach out on Facebook, or Twitter, or reply to this email to let us know how you’re doing!

It is a pleasure and an honor to work with you. We’re so thrilled to have won today and so excited and energized, for everything that’s to come.

In hope, joy, and solidarity,
Indivisible Team
