2020 was no doubt one of the most challenging years for so many of us, but we have so much hope going into this year.

This could be the year that we reunite the 628 children who, three years later, remain separated from their families. This could be the year that we ensure the tens of thousands of asylum seekers stuck at our border are cared for and welcomed. This could be the year that we get families out of harm’s way in detention and towards a better life. This could be the year that Dreamers and essential workers are recognized for their contributions to this country and granted a permanent path to legalization.

All of this is possible, but it’s going to take all of us to fight for every inch of progress. With so many overlapping crises to course-correct, we have to make a lot of noise to make sure children and families are prioritized.
