John – Today was a big day in Georgia.

Organizers in the Peach State have worked for YEARS to flip their state blue. They made incredible progress in November when Joe Biden won and then turned around and got right back to work mobilizing and getting out the vote ahead of today’s runoff elections. They registered millions of voters, boosted turnout in communities of color and among young people, and made history!

Regardless of the outcome tonight, I am so proud of how people engaged in the democratic process. Georgians laid the groundwork for victory, and Americans from around the nation stepped up to support their work by making calls, sending postcards, donating what they could and spreading the word.

This was our moment to act, to organize and to bring our truth to power – and we made the most of it. This is what democracy looks like.

No matter who wins the Georgia runoffs, I am committed to working with anyone to get our country back on its feet. I am a representative for everyone, and I hear all of your voices. I will continue to fight tirelessly for all of my constituents as we begin this new term.
