This is huge.
We got word this morning that our friends at Mijente officially contacted every single Latino voter in the entire state of Georgia over the last 8 weeks.
This is absolutely incredible and we’re proud to have played a small part in this effort. Together we raised $91,814.38 for Mijente from small-dollar donations to support outreach to Latino voters in Georgia.
We know that this work on the ground is why Georgia flipped from red to blue in the presidential election. But the truth is that after tomorrow, a lot of the resources for Georgia groups will dry up. We can’t let that happen.
We must organize 365 days a year – not just before an election. That’s why we want to raise $40,000 today for AOC and Mijente to continue organizing Latino voters from Georgia to the Bronx.
With your help, we were able to not only raise these funds, but we also recruited hundreds of volunteers to join phone banks and talk directly with Georgia voters. In races that could be determined by a few thousand votes, we know these efforts can make the difference between winning and losing.
Mijente led a historic effort on the ground and the biggest Latino voter turnout operation in Georgia’s history. The numbers speak for themselves:
- 310,000 doors knocked
- 257,000 calls
- 376,000 texts
We must continue the sustained work it takes to organize and win in states and districts that have been the targets of voter suppression and left behind for too long.
Together we can make sure that every person in this country has a voice and is able to cast their vote. That means organizing on the ground, passing the Voting Rights Act, abolishing the electoral college, enacting automatic and same-day voter registration, and much more.
