John, with only hours left before polls close in Georgia, I have some great news to report:
In just one month DFA members have made over 3 million voter contacts with infrequent or newly registered voters in Georgia.
A whopping 58% of the voters we communicated with voted early!
That’s an incredible turnout and it doesn’t even include all the infrequent and newly registered voters we’re still getting out today - right now - on Election Day. Results like that prove our strategy works.
Between our national volunteer network’s Text Out The Vote work and our staff and members on the ground in Georgia, DFA went all in to finish the job of flipping control of the U.S. Senate.
You can be sure we won’t stop until every vote is counted, but while we wait for results to start coming in, let’s celebrate the over 300 person national DFA volunteer network that did the hard work reaching 3 million voter contacts.

Tonight, Yvette Simpson, DFA’s CEO, will be on ABC News with George Stephanopoulos representing our progressive voice against Chris Christie, Rahm Emanuel, and pretty much everyone else for the entire 5 hours of live coverage. You can watch it all online or with your streaming to a TV device or you can check local listings for the shorter coverage on the ABC network tonight.
We may not know who won tonight. They won’t even start counting the early votes until after polls close. It could be days before we know if we’ve won. Still, if you’re like me, you don’t want to miss the coverage tonight as the results come in.
No matter what the final outcome in Georgia is, be proud of the work you did. I know I’m honored to be a part of this team.
Thank you, and all DFA members nationwide, for the hard work you put in everyday fighting for a better America.
