Friend --

Frankly, I am ready for President Trump to leave town. And I know you feel that
way, too.

Four years of every single democratic institution we hold dear eroded. If it's
integral to the fabric of our democracy, you can bet that President Trump and a
loyal bevy of legislators have attacked it and attempted to tear it apart.

The examples are countless, and they saved their worst for last: Tom‌orrow, when
a joint session of Congress convenes to present and certify the results from the
Electoral College, at least 13 Republican senators have vowed to join 100+
Republican representatives to challenge the results in at least six states where
President-elect Biden handily won.

The good news is that they have zero evidence and will not prevail. The bad news
is that they will go to any length to try to legitimize claims that they know
are false and to cripple faith in democratic elections for years to come.

There are no words for how shocked, appalled, and worried I am. But I will
continue to speak out as best I can to protect this country and our democratic
institutions.

Today, I'm asking that you use your voice to speak out in opposition, too.

If you oppose the disturbing efforts of Republican legislators to delegitimize
our democracy, please add your name today.

Thank you for speaking up and out.

Sincerely,
