Team,
This is not a drill: According to a bombshell report in the Washington Post, Donald Trump demanded that the Georgia secretary of state "find 11,780 votes" for him — enough to ignore the will of the people and overturn certified election results in the state.
This dangerous attack on our elections, our country, and our democracy can't stand. Trump must finally be held fully accountable for the damage he's done and the crimes he's committed. There must be justice.
Holding him accountable didn't end on Election Day — and it won't end once he leaves office either. That's why we want to hear from you: Should the House impeach Trump again? Click here to share your thoughts, and we will share the survey results with Pramila.
Some people think we should just move on after Trump leaves office. We aren't those people. We're fighting for accountability and justice because no one is above the law.
Pramila said it best after the House Judiciary Committee advanced the Articles of Impeachment back in 2019: "If we allow this President to put himself above the law, we allow ALL future presidents to be above the law. We submit then to the fact that we will no longer be a democracy -- we will be a monarchy or a dictatorship."
While Georgia's secretary of state has resisted calls to change the vote count, Trump's unacceptable and criminal threats set a concerning precedent. We cannot let this abuse of power and this blatant attack on our very democracy go unchecked. Pramila is ready to once again lead the fight for justice.
Your input always helps inform our priorities — especially as we map out our next steps in the fight to finally hold Trump accountable. Take a moment to share your thoughts by completing our short survey today.
Thank you for taking the time to make your voice heard on such an important topic.
In solidarity,
Team Jayapal
