NBWA announces 6,000 employees trained to fight human trafficking

To start off National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, NBWA announced that the Distributors Against Human Trafficking initiative has trained 6,000 beer distribution employees to safely spot and report the signs of human trafficking. “These local business leaders instantly recognized the fight against human trafficking as one where they could play a valuable role," said Craig Purser, NBWA president and CEO. Beer Purchasers' Index closes 2020 showing moderate expansion, low at-risk inventory

NBWA released the final Beer Purchasers' Index (BPI) for 2020. The total BPI for December 2020 is at 64, just a little bit higher compared to 61 in December 2019. “Overall, the slightly lower demand from beer purchases is expected heading into the new year,” NBWA Chief Economist Lester Jones explained. Data from last month shows a more moderate reading after a year of dramatic changes in beer purchasing.

Detroit Lions kicker Matt Prater earns city free beer

The kicker with the longest field goal this season would win his city free beer -- that was the deal between Detroit Lions kicker Matt Prater and Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus. And although the Lions didn't win much this season, Prater's 59-yard kick on Nov. 15 sealed his win over McManus, earning free beer for his city.
