“There’s nothing wrong with saying, you know, that you’ve recalculated.”
“I just want to find 11,780 votes.”
“There’s no way I lost Georgia.”
“So tell me, Brad, what are we going to do? We won the election, and it’s not fair to take it away from us like this.”
Those are just a few things Donald Trump said — as first reported by The Washington Post — in an hour-long phone tirade Saturday directed at Brad Raffensperger, the top election official in Georgia.
Trump was essentially trying to enlist Raffensperger in a plot to pull off a coup d’etat by overturning Joe Biden’s victory in the Peach State.
Raffensperger recorded the entire call.
White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, along with at least two of the president’s attorneys, were on the call with Trump.
Carl Bernstein — of famed journalistic duo Woodward and Bernstein, whose reporting ultimately led to President Richard Nixon’s impeachment and resignation — called this “far worse” than Watergate.
Donald Trump has been caught on tape trying to fraudulently overturn the election result in Georgia.
Join Public Citizen in demanding that federal and state authorities launch criminal investigations into whether Donald Trump, Mark Meadows, and anyone else on the phone with them broke the law during their call to Raffensperger.

P.S. For half a century, Public Citizen has been advancing policies that put the needs of everyday Americans before the greed of billionaires and Big Business. That legacy of progress and that ongoing work could not matter more right now, as our nation transitions to a Joe Biden presidency that will be as progressive as we — you and Public Citizen, together — make it.
Of course, we’re also busy undoing damage the Trump administration has already done and watching out for whatever shenanigans a lame-duck Donald Trump tries to get away with. And — like so many nonprofits and small businesses — we continue to experience financial strain related to the coronavirus pandemic.
If you can, please make an emergency donation today to support the critical work we’re doing together or even join our popular Monthly Giving program. Thank you.
