Tomorrow, a dozen US Senators plan to oppose certifying the results of the November presidential election. They’ll reportedly be joined by upwards of 140 of my Republican colleagues in the House, too.

Frankly, I’m disgusted to see this.

Republicans -- emboldened by our outgoing President’s call for Georgia election officials to “find” 11,780 votes -- are deliberately undermining the results of a free and fair election for political gain. It’s nothing less than right-wing sabotage.

It’s simple, John: Either you’re on the side of American democracy, or you’re on the side of an authoritarian plot to overturn election results. This is also a stark reminder of why defending our narrow House majority in 2022 is going to be so critical.

Here’s the reality: National Republicans believe they are poised to take the House in 2022. That’s why they are using this sideshow as a way of firing up their base in preparation for the midterm election. It’s not just Trump -- McConnell and the rest of the GOP leadership in the House stands to benefit from this.

We have to send a clear message that we will not allow Republicans to sabotage American democracy for political gain. That means we must respond early and with overwhelming grassroots action:
