2020 was one of the most challenging years we’ve ever faced, as an organization delivering medical aid in more than 70 countries around the world. When the novel coronavirus started spreading, we raced into action—caring for patients, distributing personal protective equipment (PPE), training health workers, and supporting local response efforts—all while ensuring that vital aid continued for many other life-threatening diseases and disasters.
Even as we worried about what new challenges tomorrow would bring, we found solace in knowing that this global community was always standing right beside us. While our teams on the ground worked tirelessly to deliver urgent care, you gave us the support we needed to keep going: More than 85 percent of MSF’s funding came from individuals like you.
As a thank you, we wanted to show you how our supporters helped us deliver lifesaving care in 2020:
We couldn’t have made it through 2020 without the extraordinary generosity and care of this community. You showed our patients that someone, even in the darkest of days, even thousands of miles away, was committed to helping them access the medical care they needed.
Thanks to the support of this incredible community, our teams are ready to tackle the challenges of 2021 with renewed energy and determination. And your gifts have allowed us to stay independent and impartial, which means we can go where many other organizations can’t or won’t—and will continue to go where the needs are greatest.
Friend, the generous outpouring of support reminds us that when we come together, we can do a whole lot of good.
On behalf of MSF teams and the communities we serve: Thank you.
