Holder said it best when he recently emailed you about what AOTL is trying to accomplish: "our movement is fighting a battle that elected officials in Washington should have prevented a long time ago." Congress should have (and could have!) already passed laws to prevent partisan politicians from exploiting redistricting for their own political gain.

The House has passed commonsense democracy reforms like the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to protect our elections and combat voter suppression. But the Senate -- under Mitch McConnell's "leadership" -- failed to act time and time again.

That's why we're asking you to chip in to our Democracy Reform Fund -- the results of today's runoff will determine the course of the fight for fair maps in 2021. No matter what, it will be an uphill battle. But if pro-democracy senators hold the majority, we could finally pass comprehensive legislation that will help end gerrymandering and protect voting rights.
