Yesterday, Ayanna was officially sworn in to her second term in Congress
representing the Massachusetts 7th. [ [link removed] ]We wanted to take a moment to
reflect on her first two years in office, and then ask you to chip in
$3 to help us continue to make progress for all of our
communities.
In her first term, Ayanna introduced or co-led 55 bold, transformative
pieces of legislation. She introduced the People’s Justice Guarantee, to
reimagine our criminal legal system; she led legislation to transform
public transportation and make it more accessible; she fought to end
qualified immunity, abolish the death penalty, strengthen worker
protections, and more. And she was an outspoken advocate for justice for
all of our communities - racial justice, economic justice, environmental
justice, healthcare justice, survivor justice, the list goes on.
As Ayanna often says, “those closest to the pain should be closest to the
power,” and that continues to be the guiding principle of our movement and
this campaign. With your support, we are building a diverse,
intergenerational, intersectional movement to keep organizing and
advocating for policies that match the scale of the crises facing our
communities today.
Already, Ayanna is pushing President-elect Joe Biden and Vice
President-elect Kamala Harris to take bold action early in their
administration - to cancel student debt, abolish the death penalty, and
more. And she’ll continue to fight to build on the progress we’ve made
together over the past two years.
Justice remains the goal, and Ayanna is ready to keep organizing,
advocating, and legislating for justice and equality for every American.
