Swing Left

Hi John,

When we launched our Super State Strategy in early 2019, we zeroed in on states where a single voter could impact the Electoral College, Senate, and redistricting process. Georgia was a key part of this strategy, and the state became even more important when a second Senate election was announced just over a year ago.

Over the past two years, this community contacted Georgia voters, supported Georgia candidates, and partnered with Georgia organizations. This made a difference in the razor-thin Presidential race, ushering in Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s victory in the state. And since November, we’ve doubled down, focusing all of our programs on empowering Georgia voters. A few highlights:

Our College Team has trained student leaders in relational organizing, a highly-effective voter contact tactic that leverages personal relationships to drive civic participation. Our five Georgia College Leads—who have been organizing in the state for months—have also coordinated out-of-state phone banks for college students across the country, driving an estimated 20,000 calls to voters.

Through Blueprint, our political donation product, Swing Left donors contributed over $400,000 to seven local Georgia organizations: America Votes Georgia, the Asian American Advocacy Fund, the Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights Action Network, Mijente PAC, the New Georgia Project Action Fund, and Rise. These organizations have worked year in, year out to organize, mobilize, and protect Georgia voters.

Our Organizing Team has hosted regular call nights to connect volunteers with voters in Georgia, mobilizing nearly 10,000 community members to make over 500,000 phone calls. In a special election, phone banking is a critical way to ensure voters have all of the information they need to cast ballots safely and in time to be counted.

We're so grateful for this community of relentless volunteers and partners stepping up to make an impact in these game-changing runoff elections. And there's still time to do more—sign up to call Georgia voters before the polls close tomorrow.

Control of the Senate is within reach—let's win this thing!
