When we launched our Super State Strategy in early 2019, we zeroed in on states where a single voter could impact the Electoral College, Senate, and redistricting process. Georgia was a key part of this strategy, and the state became even more important when a second Senate election was announced just over a year ago.
Over the past two years, this community contacted Georgia voters, supported Georgia candidates, and partnered with Georgia organizations. This made a difference in the razor-thin Presidential race, ushering in Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s victory in the state. And since November, we’ve doubled down, focusing all of our programs on empowering Georgia voters. A few highlights:
Our College Team has trained student leaders in relational organizing, a highly-effective voter contact tactic that leverages personal relationships to drive civic participation. Our five Georgia College Leads—who have been organizing in the state for months—have also coordinated out-of-state phone banks for college students across the country, driving an estimated 20,000 calls to voters.
