John,

The sitting President of the United States has again sunk to an unthinkable new low in his efforts to hold onto power at all costs. His actions are dangerous to our Democratic Republic and a betrayal of the office he holds.

On a call, which is available for all to hear, he lectured, ranted, insulted, and implied threats towards Georgia’s Secretary of State and Georgia attorneys and election officials.

The very foundation of our nation rests in our free and fair elections, and Georgia — after audits and hand counting — has affirmed and certified their election results.

And yet, the President of the United States with all the subtle innuendo of a wanna-be gangster tried to compel the Georgia Secretary of State to “find” votes.

There are no votes to be found; there are in fact millions of votes that were cast in Georgia, but the reality is more Georgians cast those votes for President-elect Biden than for Donald Trump.

President Trump is unwilling to accept his loss, and as he grasps at straws to maintain power, he is willing to traffic in conspiracies, shred the faith Americans have in our elections, pressure and lie to election officials, and deny the will of the American people.

On Wednesday, when Congress meets to count the electoral college votes, I will cast my vote to accept the count, respect the votes of millions of Americans and honor the states that have certified their elections.

Thank you,

Abigail
