On Wednesday Congress will formally count the electoral votes and certify the results of the presidential election. President Trump and his allies have lost 60 baseless lawsuits challenging the results of this election. We've heard the president's unacceptable remarks undermining the count in Georgia.

But still, at least 140 House Republicans, including Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, and over a dozen Republican Senators have indicated they will publicly object to the outcome of the presidential election.

This desperate attempt to overturn the election President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris won is an attack on our democracy.

This attack against the legitimacy of our elections also shows why defending our House majority in 2022 is so critical. If we lose the House majority, the Republicans trying to overturn the results of our election will be the ones in charge.

History shows that Republicans have the inside track to take back the House in 2022. Our majority is already extremely narrow, and Andy's seat will be critical to keeping the House majority. The only way we can ensure that is with early and aggressive action.
