John –

Yesterday, I was sworn in as a member of the 117th Congress, giving my solemn oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

It is an honor to represent the people of Connecticut’s Fifth District for a second term. Thank you for your trust and the privilege of continuing to serve you. I am in Congress to be a voice for every person, to fight for a better, brighter future for ALL of us. I believe in this democracy and that good government works. I am grateful and excited to recommit myself to this work and pledge to do my part to make our country better for each and every person.

With the ceremonies behind us, your new Congress is getting down to business, addressing pressing issues like the COVID-19 crisis, access to affordable healthcare and quality education, food security, a cleaner environment and so much more. I do not need to tell you that our work is FAR from finished.

I hope you had peaceful holidays and are entering the new year with a renewed sense of hope, possibility and commitment to letting the great work begin!

– Jahana
