Corman to be Sworn in as President Pro Tempore, Tuesday, January 5

Tomorrow beginning at noon, the Senate will begin its new legislative session by swearing in its new members. As part of that, I will be sworn in as the President Pro Tempore of the Senate.

I first stepped foot on the Senate floor as an impressionable 12-year-old to watch as my father was sworn in as the Senator representing our community. Decades later, it is an incredible honor to be elected by my peers as the top-ranking official in the Senate. I invite you to join in by watching the ceremony on my website – www.senatorcorman.com.

As President Pro Tempore, I am responsible for appointing the chairs and members of the Senate’s 22 standing committees while serving as an ex-officio member of those committees. The office also refers bills and resolutions to the appropriate Senate committees for consideration.

In the end as President Pro Tempore, I will continue to represent our community as I remain determined to make our Commonwealth a better place for future generations.
