Today, I am reiterating my call to move forward on impeachment.

Since taking the oath of office, Donald Trump has taken actions that violate our constitution, are deeply unethical, and put our country's national security and democracy at risk.

That’s why, for months, I have called for the House to begin impeachment proceedings.

The news over the last few days on Trump’s dealings with Ukraine is stunning and makes it abundantly clear that this president is actively abusing his power for personal and political gain.

This president views himself as above the law, and it’s up to Congress -- a co-equal branch of government -- to hold the executive in check.

The House’s decision to move forward with impeachment is the right decision for the American people and our democracy.
