Yesterday, Alexandria officially began a second term in Congress. 

We could not be here without each and every one of you. Maybe you
volunteered with us this past year, helped us spread the word on social
media, or donated online. It all adds up, and we are enormously grateful
for your continued support.

When you get sworn in as a new member of Congress, as some folks did
yesterday (shout out to Reps. Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush!), one of the
first things you get told is that you have to spend at least five hours a
week on ‘call time’ to fundraise for your reelection. This takes away from
time that our elected officials should be spending legislating and working
on behalf of constituents.

Our campaign is different. Alexandria doesn’t do call time, and we are
extraordinarily proud of the fact that we are the #1 small-dollar funded
campaign in the House. Thanks to online donors, Alexandria can focus 100%
of her efforts on pushing for our agenda in Congress. That’s why we’re
asking for your help once again as we begin the 117th Congress:

Think about everything a congressperson can do to make a difference.

* Drafting legislation and amendments to pending legislation.
* Preparing smart lines of questioning ahead of congressional hearings
to hold government and corporate leaders accountable.
* Working with colleagues to get more cosponsors or votes for a piece of
legislation.
* Hosting town hall meetings and discussions to hear from constituents.
* Helping constituents navigate the federal bureaucracy to get the
benefits they deserve.
* Distributing resources directly to the community through nutrition
aid, mutual aid, volunteer tutoring programs and community education  

Alexandria is effective because she has a movement backing her up. And our
grassroots donors are a key reason she can continue to fight as hard as
she does for all of us in Congress.
