John,
Since the 1980s, Republicans have built an economy that works for the top 0.1% of Americans by slashing the social safety net, denigrating investments in working-people as socialism, and creating the spectre of trickle-down economics to mask their brazen handouts to corporate billionaires.
In 2020, we have a chance to reverse that trend. Bernie Sanders just released a new wealth tax plan that will make the rich pay their fair share, and help us invest in the working-class people of this country.
It is truly incredible that as we speak, two major candidates in the Democratic Primary are proposing completely unprecedented plans to tax obscene wealth. But we’d like your thoughts about these new wealth taxes:
Will you take our Wealth Tax survey, and let us know where you stand?
Let us be clear where we stand: billionaires should not exist, they should not be able to influence our political system, and we’re going to tax them out of existence. Since the end of Citizens United, wealthy elites and multi-billion dollar corporations have used their immense financial power to block change on all levels.
And in 2020, with a reclaimed White House and new generation of progressive Justice Democrats in Congress, we can end that. We can take our democracy back for the people.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
