A very Happy New Year to you and all your loved ones. 2020 is a year I am sure we are glad to see come to an end! Read on for a quick update on our trade deal with Europe as well as vaccine developments in our area.

A New beginning!

Although Christmas can be a quiet time for news, of course 2020's festive period bucked the trend - we agreed and signed the biggest bilateral trade deal in history for both the UK and the European Union, worth upwards of £600 billion.

We start the New Year with an ending as we leave the European Union, and a new beginning as we forge our future relationship with Europe and the world. Already, we have signed more than 60 trade deals with countries that include Switzerland, Turkey, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Singapore and Mexico.

I was on the list to speak in the parliamentary debate on 30th December on the trade deal, but unfortunately this had to be cut short due to the number of MPs speaking. However, I've published the words I had prepared on my website, which you can read here ([link removed]) .

A fantastic achievement in mere weeks - a big thank you to all our healthcare staff!
Vaccinations

The good news on immunisation continues! With the approval of our very own Oxford/Astrazeneca vaccine, we have seen roll out begin this week and people already being protected from the virus.

In just a few short weeks, more than one million vulnerable people have been vaccinated. This is a pivotal moment in the fightback against this horrible virus.

A huge thank you to everyone that has worked so hard to make this possible. On the vaccines - scientists, clinicians and of course the volunteers - as well as the fantastic NHS staff and other team members who are administering it as quickly as possible so we may protect our most vulnerable first.

My Views

In addition to regular casework correspondence, I receive a number of campaign emails and postcards each month regarding various topics. Surgeries

I hold regular surgeries both at my office in Cheadle Hulme and around the constituency. In-person surgeries are suspended at the moment in the light of the current situation. However, my team and I will be assisting on all enquiries so please do continue to get in touch with us.
