In nearly a year as an unelected senator, Kelly Loeffler has done nothing for Georgian families. Instead, she's put Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump's agenda ahead of Georgians - a move that threatens affordable health care, voting rights and the future of our shared values for decades to come.

There's no way around it: The only way we can protect our most fundamental rights is by voting her out and winning in Georgia. But the latest polls show a tight race - and, to make matters worse, right-wing Super PACs are dumping millions into Georgia to help Loeffler buy this seat. So Catherine asked me to reach out to you right away - because what we do right now will determine our race and the fate of the Senate:

I'll be honest: Winning here won't be easy. In 231 years, the Senate has only had 10 Black senators. And if I win, I'd become the first Black senator to be elected from Georgia.

But I'm used to beating the odds. After growing up in Savannah's public housing, I was able to graduate college with the support of my community - and today, I'm the youngest senior pastor at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s church. My community taught me that success is about lifting up those around me, a lesson I'll take with me to Washington as I continue fighting for Georgia's families.

John, this runoff election is about more than just the Senate majority and Loeffler's inaction for Georgians. It's about standing up for one another. And with the renaissance we're having in Georgia, it's a referendum on the GOP's enabling of the worst of Trump's agenda - which is why it's critical that we turn out as many Georgia voters as possible for our runoff.
