Today, I will be sworn in for my second term serving in Congress.
Representing NJ-03 in Congress is the honor of my life. Before I'm sworn in, I wanted to thank everyone who made this possible.
Two years ago, I was sworn in to represent the people of Burlington and Ocean Counties. Since that time, we've endured a government shutdown, partisan gridlock, a global pandemic and an economic crisis.
Throughout it all, I have heard from tens of thousands of my constituents. I have heard stories of small business owners struggling to keep their doors open, frontline health care workers fighting to keep people alive, and working parents just trying to make ends meet.
I carry each and every one of those stories with me when I go onto the House Floor to vote. I think about the people who live in the communities I grew up in and am raising my two boys in when I get to work.
When I look back at the past two years, I'm proud of what we've done together as a community and as a country to stand up and be there for one another during these trying times.
We have our work cut out for us in the term ahead, and I'm ready to work with my colleagues in Congress, the Biden administration, and all of you to tackle the most pressing challenges of our time.
Together, we will keep fighting for affordable health care, getting our economy back on track, additional COVID-19 relief, our voting rights, and much more.
