John,

The Washington Post has reported that Stacey Abrams and her Georgia predecessors “created change from the ground up, bringing people together to act upon their collective power.”

Abrams has inspired a league of women, activists, and young leaders to dream bigger and demand that our government fight for them. Now, she’s using that power to help Democrats flip the Senate blue and ensure that we have the chance to make progress on voting rights, reproductive justice, access to affordable health care, climate action, and even more in the next cycle.

Although 60 women ran for the Senate in 2020, none successfully flipped a Senate seat from red to blue. And despite significant gains in the House, progressive women candidates are still struggling to make a mark in our legislature. If we want to reform this system that favors the few, then the work starts with this Georgia election -- but the truth is, it won’t end there, and we’ll need to keep ramping up our budget.

John, we can create the structural support we need to push progressive legislation in Washington. First, we need to support the work that Stacey Abrams and activists in Georgia are doing every day to take back the Senate -- and then we MUST look ahead. Women, especially women of color, have proven time and time again that they can lead the fight for change in this country.
