The eyes of the world are on Georgia.

Republicans are rolling into the streets of the Peach State, with Trump supporters led by Alex Jones literally marching on the state capitol. Meanwhile dark money groups are dumping their war chests into the race -- some with ties to Donald Trump Jr., others with ties to Mitch McConnell, and all hoping to influence the outcome of the election, the Senate, and Joe Biden's presidency. The spending is staggering -- and over $200 million had already been spent BEFORE November 3.

We couldn't ask for two more qualified candidates to represent the Democratic Party, fight against the dark money right-wing forces that oppose us, and flip the Senate to clear the path for the Biden-Harris agenda. Jon Ossoff is an investigative journalist, student of John Lewis, and former national security staffer whose resume is almost as impressive as the strength of the last campaign he ran in Georgia. Raphael Warnock is the senior pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once preached. He was brought up in public housing, gained political clout after his successful fight to expand Medicaid in Georgia, and chaired the New Georgia Project -- the voter registration group founded by Stacey Abrams and largely responsible for flipping Georgia blue during the general election.

But their Republican opponents have huge advantages. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are both incumbents, meaning they have a decisive advantage since they already sit in the Senate. In addition, they're two of the upper chamber's richest members -- and they padded their coffers with extremely suspiciously timed stock trades right before the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States.

If these rich and powerful Republicans win with the help of their dark money backers, we can kiss any chance at progress under Joe Biden goodbye. Mitch McConnell will rule as Senate Majority Leader. Gridlock will again be the norm, not the exception. The GOP will run Washington and the country.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris talked a lot about the "battle for the soul of the nation" during our campaign. Thank you for helping us earn a huge victory in that battle by sending them to the White House. But this battle isn't won yet. It concludes in Georgia on January 5 -- and without your help, we could lose it all.
