LANSING — In Michigan, state law bans corporations from contributing directly to lawmakers' campaigns.
But many lawmakers have been setting up other fundraising accounts that fall outside campaign finance regulations and that can accept corporate money.
Now, the Michigan Campaign Finance Network (MCFN) has found some lawmakers are even participating in fundraisers that specifically ask donors for "corporate contributions only," according to invitations obtained by MCFN. To read MCFN's new report, click on this link.
