Friend, We have a New Year’s resolution for you: Why not start 2021 off right by helping support our nation’s democracy? Just four days from now, on Jan. 5, polls will close in Georgia’s runoff elections. These two contests will decide which party controls the U.S. Senate. The stakes couldn’t be higher. That’s why it’s so important that as many Georgians as possible are able to vote and make their voices heard. With the assistance of supporters like you, we’ve been working tirelessly for months to help get out the vote (GOTV) in Georgia. You have the power to help us – and you don’t even have to leave home to make a difference. Beginning today and continuing every day until the Jan. 5 elections, we will be holding virtual phone banking events each afternoon and evening. Our mission? To reach as many Georgia voters as we can and help ensure that they will cast their ballots (if they haven’t already via early or absentee voting). The more voters participate in these runoff elections, the better. It’s that simple. Can you spare an hour of your time to help? FINAL Georgia GOTV Power Hours Friday, Jan. 1 Saturday, Jan. 2 Sunday, Jan. 3 Monday, Jan. 4 Tuesday, Jan. 5 (Election Day) *Note: The Jan. 1-4 Virtual Phone Banks will be open from 3-8 p.m. Eastern in order to accommodate all schedules. Volunteers are welcomed to participate at their convenience for as long as their schedules allow during this time frame. Using your own phone (or any other internet-connected device), you can help Georgia voters get the information they need about where, when and how to vote. Our Virtual Phone Bank will provide you with a complete script, connect you directly to voters and give you easy-to-follow instructions to record the results of your conversation. New: We are excited to announce that we’re introducing a service called VPB Connect for these Virtual Phone Banks. This new feature lets callers click-to-dial from within any web browser on any device: computer, tablet, smartphone, etc. With just one click, you’ll be connected to Georgia voters directly from your browser. And instead of relying on volunteers’ own phone numbers, VPB Connect automatically uses an Atlanta area code and specified caller ID. Remember: Every single volunteer is important. The more volunteers we have, the more voters in Georgia we will be able to reach. By contributing your time, you’re joining a national movement that helped produce the highest voter turnout in our nation’s history last November. We have the power to finish this election season strong. Please join us. In solidarity, Your friends at the SPLC
