2. NC VALUES: We’re on the ground working in Georgia
In partnership with our friends at the Faith & Freedom Coalition, the NC Values Coalition has sent a team of canvassers on the ground in Georgia. Earlier this week, we worked with NC State Representative Jake Johnson, Texas State Senator Bryan Hughes, and a coalition of volunteers on the ground to support pro-family, pro-Life candidates in the Georgia Runoff election. The fate of this race will determine who takes control of the US Senate.

3. NY POST: How Mark Robinson beat Bloomberg’s billions to win NC’s second-highest office
"Robinson’s win is astounding for any number of reasons, but especially because he managed to beat the $8 million spent by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg in his state to take him out."

4. WASHINGTON TIMES: Trump signs executive order expanding school choice for in-person classes due to pandemic
“President Trump signed an executive order Monday aimed at expanding school choice options during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing 'emergency learning scholarships' for any child without access to in-person learning.
The money will be offered through block grants under the Health and Human Services Department to cover tuition and fees for private or parochial schools; home schooling and 'microschools;' learning-pod costs; special education and related services, including therapies; or tutoring or remedial education.”

5. SPECTRUM NEWS: Newby Takes Oath as 30th NC Supreme Court Chief Justice
“Paul Newby is now on the job as head of North Carolina’s judicial branch.
Newby took the oath for chief justice of the state Supreme Court early Friday, shortly after midnight at a small ceremony at his home, according to the Administrative Office of the Courts.
Newby, 65, has been on the court since 2005 and most recently was senior associate justice. He is the 30th chief justice in North Carolina history.
Newby, a Republican, was elevated to the top position after defeating Chief Justice Cheri Beasley in November by just 401 votes from nearly 5.4 million cast. Beasley, a Democrat and first Black woman to serve as chief justice, is no longer on the seven-member court.”

WEEKLY PRAYER: LIFE
LORD, we recognize that you are Sovereign over all creation. We recognize you made man from the dust, and in your mercy crowned creation with man and woman made in your image. What a wonder it is that you would bestow upon us this blessing and responsibility!
We pray LORD that we would not take this for granted. We pray that both this great responsibility, and this great dignity, may motivate us to love you more, love our neighbor more, and love ourselves more
LORD, may we as a culture truly see and believe that children are a blessing from the LORD—born or unborn; able or disabled. All children should have an opportunity to experience the liberty of life.
"At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, 'Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?' He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.'" (Matthew 18:1-6)
LORD, we also pray for our children and their innocence, for the protection of the religious liberties of businesses and churches, and for the rights of parents over their kids. With activists seeking to reboot the tired debate on HB2, we pray that city officials may not bend a knee to their demands.
Finally, we pray thanksgiving and gratitude for Justice Newby's recount win.
Amen
