Two questions, friend — are you registered to vote? Are your friends and family registered to vote?

The 2020 elections may seem far away but voters will begin casting ballots for the primary in less than five months! If we aren't registered to vote in 2020, someone else will decide what's best for our communities, for our children, for our environment.

Check your registration status and made sure you're registered to vote. Then make sure your friends and family are registered to vote. Get started here »

As an LCV supporter, we know that you understand the power of your voice and your vote — now we need you to take the next step and make sure those around you have the same opportunity to vote.

There are different ways to register depending on your state. First, check your registration status: Thanks to an unfavorable Supreme Court decision last year, we know that many states are aggressively purging inactive voters from the voting rolls. With Vote.org, you can check your registration status in just 30 seconds to make sure your information is up-to-date.

Then, if you are NOT registered to vote:
  • Register Online. 37 states and the District of Columbia allow online registration. Check to see if your state has online registration.
  • Another option: Register By Mail. The National Voter Registration form gives state-by-state instructions to fill out a paper registration. Fill it out and send it to the location listed for your state. Don't forget to sign it before mailing it!
  • Or Register In Person. Register in person with your state or local election office! Also check with nearby public facilities like the Department of Motor Vehicles, armed service recruitment centers, or state and county public assistance offices to see if they have voter registration available.
Registration Deadlines. This varies state by state so check the U.S. Vote Foundation to find your state's registration deadline — yours could be coming up!

Finally, if you have any issues registering or just have questions about the voting process in your state, you can call 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683) to speak to a trained voting rights volunteer.

Now that you have the tools to register, help us to spread the word and make sure everyone in your community is able to vote.
