It would be an understatement to say 2020 was challenging. Yet, in its final moments, so many of you showed up for people's rights when it counted – going twice as far in impact by donating during our matching gift opportunity.

After four years of Trump, the resources we raised from our year-end campaign are going to be critical in rectifying the horrendous damage that has been done to civil liberties in this country – and what we will need in order to push toward a country that heralds justice, fairness, and equality for all of us as we transition to a new administration.

That's why we cannot express our appreciation for you enough, ACLU Supporter.

The new year may only be a few days old, but our lawyers, advocates, and organizers are already hard at work in our courts, legislatures, and communities to preserve the rights of us all.

We are fighting to reunite children with their parents after being torn apart by Trump's cruel family separation policy, demanding an end to racist police violence, pressing for systemic equality, defending abortion access for all, and much more – all against the ongoing backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our power as an organization has always come from deep expertise, an agility to act swiftly in moments of urgency – and the strength of our steadfast community. That especially holds true now. We've come this far because of passionate people like you, dedicated to a better democracy.

So thanks again to everyone who helped make our year-end match a success – we could not have done it without your relentless belief in protecting freedom. Together, we will build the nation that we are fighting for in 2021 and beyond.
