Hi John,
2020 was TOUGH.
And while I’m sure most of us are ready to move on, I think it’s important to take a moment to acknowledge all that we achieved in the face of great change, fear, and uncertainty.
We started 2020 in Las Vegas, celebrating our Dignity, Unity, and Power. Fitting, because our reality changed in ways we never would have imagined and we quickly had to put those values into practice:
-
Providing emergency aid to domestic workers across the country.
-
Organizing and demanding that our elected officials pass inclusive COVID relief.
-
Taking action to protect Black Lives as this country began a much-needed reckoning around race.
-
Continuing our work with Families Belong Together to end cruel family separation policies.
-
Engaging millions of women of color during an unprecedented election.
2020 was a transformative year of nonstop organizing, power building, and truth-telling. We have grown so much and learned even more. Through it all -- your support kept us going. We are energized for the year ahead and look forward to partnering with you to continue building this movement.
Thanks for all that you do,
Ai-jen Poo, Executive Director
