Dear John,

This New Year's Day, I am thinking about the word
"potential." The potential that comes with each new year.
Potential for growth, potential for change, potential for
opportunity.

Though the challenges so many in our community encountered in 2020 are
far from behind us, I see so much potential in the year ahead. Your
commitment and resilience proved to me - and to all of us at Autism
Speaks - that this community is strong, and that this community does
not back down from a challenge.

With that in mind and as we look to the year ahead, I hope
you'll join me in realizing the potential for:
* Even more progress toward creating greater understanding,
acceptance and kindness toward people with autism.
* Research breakthroughs that can enhance lives and deliver more
personalized care.
* Continued advancements in ensuring every child receives early
screening and access to the support they need to thrive.
* An unwavering effort to empower capable adults with autism to
find, secure and retain meaningful work.
* Relentless focus on equipping our community with the tools and
resources needed to lead fulfilling lives.

John, with you as a member of this diverse, broad and
engaged community, I know that we can achieve our vision of a world
where all people with autism can reach their potential.

Thank you, and happy New Year from all of us at Autism Speaks.

With hope,
Angela Geiger
