Happy New Year! As we embark on the start of 2021, we at the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence want to take a moment to thank you for your support throughout the past difficult and trying year.
Without your help, the work that we do to stop American gun violence simply would not have been possible. You are the backbone of our organization.
2020 was a tough year for many of our fellow Americans. The wide ranging effects of the COVID-19 pandemic amplified the inequities in our communities exacerbating gun violence.
But 2020 was not without success. Our organization led the effort to pass dozens of new gun violence prevention laws in the Commonwealth of Virginia and helped pass and expand implementation of extreme risk laws across the country. The passage of these laws represent real and lasting progress, providing evidence-based solutions to prevent gun violence and keep guns out of the hands of individuals at risk of violence.
These important accomplishments were made possible because of your support. Thank you for championing our mission to make gun violence rare and abnormal. We are grateful to count you as a member of our coalition.
Together we can continue our important work in 2021 to fulfill our shared vision of a future free from gun violence!
