Hi there,

Last week, I filed a lawsuit to stop the Trump administration from blocking states, including Washington, from setting stricter vehicle emissions standards than the federal government. I'm proud that Washington has been a leader in the fight against climate change -- and I won't let President Trump take us backwards.

The administration's latest anti-environment policy would allow auto manufacturers to follow weak federal standards that are not doing nearly enough to keep our air clean or our climate healthy. Puget Sound is already warming and rising, our wildfires are increasing in intensity, and the glaciers in North Cascades National Park have shrunk by more than 50 percent. This regulation will exacerbate all these and other impacts of the climate crisis.

I'm challenging this regulation along with 23 other attorneys general because we are committed to defending against climate change, even when the White House won't.

This is our 49th lawsuit challenging the president and our 23rd environmental lawsuit. So far, we are undefeated. Our fight to protect the planet is going to take all of us, and I won't allow powerful interests -- including our own federal government -- to stop us.

More updates coming soon.

-Bob
