Dear John,
Just like that, 2020 is over. We can breathe a quick sigh of relief but we’ve got a lot of work ahead of us in 2021.
The past year has been like none other, with record lows and big highs. The coronavirus pandemic meant that we had to spend time apart from our friends and family, even on the most important days of the year, and forego some of our best loved traditions. But the November election brought the first sign of hope - with millions of voters across America using their voice, and their ballots, to elect Joe Biden as the next president of the United States of America.
We had a big year here at NIAC Action too. 2020 saw the launch of the largest Iranian-American voter outreach program in history. In June, we debuted our Pride site, dedicated to uplifting and empowering LGBTQ voices in our community. We worked with key players in Congress on critical legislation promoting peace and diplomacy and secured commitments to return to the Iran nuclear deal from all major presidential candidates.
And you were with us, John, every step of the way.
The New Year always feels like a chance to wipe the slate clean and start anew, and this year is no exception. And while there’s no telling what journeys 2021 has in store for us, with supporters like you, John, nothing feels impossible.
We hope we can see your faces in person soon but until then be safe and well.
