Joy And Hope In The New Year

friend,
I write my final email of 2020 with a heart filled with gratitude and anticipation.
Despite the challenges we still face with COVID, America is recovering.
Desperately needed help for individuals and businesses is on the way.
Vaccines are approved and being administered around the country.
The economy is coming back. The stock market is roaring. America's potential is once again being unleashed.
Texas is, as always, leading the way.
From a personal perspective, my battle with cancer was joined by thousands of you who prayed and sent well wishes, reminding me again of the kindness and fundamental decency woven into our American culture.
Amid that battle, my House colleagues on both sides of the aisle, along with well-wishers across the nation, reached out with concern and compassion. We are bigger than politics. It is a powerful lesson.
With that in mind, let us hold our heads high and stride into the new year with hope and confidence in our shared American values so that we might renew our culture as well as our economy.
