John, today is National Voter Registration Day.

We cannot wait until 2020 to start preparing for the election. Here is why it is important RIGHT NOW:

There are no off years! We achieved a victory no one thought was possible in 2018 because we organized with this community and brought everyone into the political process.

This year, we have municipal elections on November 5, 2019 in many towns in Connecticut. Offices that could be on your ballot include Mayor, First Selectman, Town Council, Board of Education, Board of Finance, and more – all positions that critically impact our day-to-day lives, from fixing that sidewalk down the street to setting our children’s curriculum in the classroom.

Remember, this is our moment – to act, to organize and to bring our truth to power!

Help us celebrate National Voter Registration Day by double-checking your voter registration status and getting up-to-date on the races happening and the candidates running in your community:

I want to encourage you to take the next month to engage with your municipal candidates and do everything possible to prepare yourself for Election Day 2019 – whether that’s requesting an absentee ballot, attending a local event to meet the candidates, or even phone banking or canvassing.

As always, I am grateful for your support. Now let’s get out there and do this!
